Boston Children's Hospital

The Fellowship Program at Boston Children's Hospital was created with the intent of developing the next generation of oncology nurses. The Fellowship includes a comprehensive scope of direct observational and learning experiences. Students oncology nursing within the context of a pediatric hospital setting. They will learn about the roles and responsibilities of a pediatric oncology nurse and discover possible career opportunities.

Philadelphia, PA

The Fellowship Program at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia is designed to help stimulate career interest and foster the professional development of potential pediatric oncology nurses. The purpose of the Fellowship is to provide aspiring nurses with comprehensive clinical exposure to oncology nursing and to “best practices” in compassionate care. This enriching experience will also involve classroom time, including weekly “Lunch and Learn” educational sessions. Fellows will be provided the opportunity to participate in shadow days observing oncology related nursing roles across the full continuum of cancer care.

A Susan D. Flynn Pediatric Oncology Nursing Fellowship at Connecticut Children's will enhance the potential Pediatric Oncology Nurse's core clinical education through direct involvement with Oncology patient care, expert training in compassionate care, and exposure to related patient care duties and services that typify Oncology nurses’ valuable role and important inter‐relationships with other members of the healthcare team.

Flynn Oncology Nursing Fellowship program at The Hospital at the University of Pennsylvania is intended to help stimulate the career interest and foster the professional development of potential Oncology Nurses. The program is focused on the critically important field of Oncology Nursing. The Fellowship will enhance the student’s core clinical education through direct observation of Oncology patient care and exposure to related patient care duties and services that typify Oncology nurses’ valuable role and important inter-relationships with other members of the healthcare team.

The Susan D. Flynn Oncology Nursing Fellowship program at Hartford Healthcare is intended to help stimulate the career interest and foster the professional development of potential Oncology Nurses. The program is focused on the critically important field of oncology nursing. The Fellowship will enhance the student’s core clinical education through direct observation of oncology patient care and exposure to related patient care duties and services. Focus will be on the integral role of the oncology nurse on the inter-disciplinary healthcare team.

The Susan D. Flynn Oncology Nursing Fellowship Program at Smilow Cancer Hospital is intended to help stimulate the career interest and foster the professional development of future Oncology Nurses. This fellowship will enhance the student’s core clinical education through direct observation and exposure to oncology nursing care. Through this experience, students will learn about the various oncology nursing roles and responsibilities and discover possible career opportunities.

The Susan D. Flynn Oncology Nursing Fellowship Program at Stamford Hospital provides comprehensive program to enable a student entering senior year of a baccalaureate nursing program to acquire the knowledge, skills, and professional behaviors to deliver safe, quality care that meets defined (organizational or professional society) standards of practice in a comprehensive cancer center setting under the preceptorship of an experienced registered nurse. The Fellowship will encompass organizational orientation, practice-based experience, and supplemental activities to promote continuing professional development in Oncology Nursing.

The Susan D. Flynn Oncology Nursing Fellowship Program at UConn Health John Dempsey Hospital and UConn School of Nursing is intended to help stimulate and nourish the career interest and foster the professional development of potential oncology nurses. The program is focused on the vitally important field of oncology nursing. The fellowship will enhance the student’s core clinical education through direct observation of oncology patient care, hands on oncology clinical experience, and exposure to related patient care duties and services that typify oncology nurses’ valuable role and important inter- professional relationships with other members of the healthcare team. Opportunities to attend various pertinent John Dempsey Hospital/UConn Health educational programs and meetings with key staff members/committees will provide additional learning experiences for the student nurse.

Opportunities to attend various pertinent internal educational programs and meetings with key staff members at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital will provide additional learning experiences.
